打刻とは?

意味するもの

打刻とは、鋳造時にデザインがコイン上に物理的に転写された状態を指します。これは、ダイ(型)の画像――肖像、文字、レリーフ(浮き彫り)――が金属に転写されるプロセスです。単にデザインがあるというだけでなく、そのデザインが「いかに実行されているか」が重要になります。強い打刻とは、ダイが金属の地金全体に完全に圧力をかけ、シャープで鮮明なディテールが再現されている状態を意味します。弱い、あるいは「ずれた」打刻は、金属がダイの空洞を完全に埋めきれず、平坦でぼやけた、あるいは不完全な特徴となって現れます。一般的に言えば、コインのデザイン要素の物理的な明瞭度そのものです。

価格への影響
