Privacy Policy

JunkPal (“we”, “us”) provides tools that help resellers identify and price items. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to junkpal.ai and app.junkpal.ai (the “Service”).

What we collect

  • Account data — your email address and a salted hash of your password (we never store plaintext passwords).
  • Scans and photos — images you capture or upload for identification, the resulting item matches and price estimates, and optional data you add (asking prices, session groupings, notes). If you grant location permission, a scan may store where it happened so your own sourcing map works; you can decline the permission at any time.
  • Billing data — handled by Stripe. We store your plan, subscription status, and a Stripe customer reference. We never see or store full card numbers.
  • Usage data — scan counts against your plan quota, feature usage, and standard server logs (IP address, user agent) kept for security and abuse prevention.

How we use it

  • To run the Service: identify items, match them to our catalog, and estimate prices.
  • To operate your account, quota, and subscription.
  • To improve identification quality — using aggregated, de-identified data.
  • To protect the Service from abuse and to comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your photos to train third-party AI models.

Processors we rely on

Stripe (payments), Supabase (authentication and database hosting), and our infrastructure providers. Each processes data only to provide their service to us.

Retention & deletion

Your scans and account data are kept while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time by contacting [email protected]; we delete personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax or fraud-prevention purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Email [email protected] and we’ll honor verified requests.
