ダブルダイ (DD) とは、コインを打刻するために使用されたダイに機械的な不具合が生じ、デザイン要素の二次的でゴーストのような印象が残ってしまう製造上のエラーです。これはデザインのバリエーションや摩耗とは異なります。この二重化は、表(obverse)または裏(reverse)の文字、数字、または細かいデザイン線が不自然にぼやけたり二重になったりして現れます。貨幣学において、これは特定の種類の打刻エラーです。その深刻度は、通常「軽度 (light)」や「微細 (subtle)」から「重度 (heavy)」や「極端 (extreme)」まで、コレクターによって評価されます。DDが存在するということは、そのコインが標準的な鋳造品とは異なるエラー品として分類されることを意味します。
