Shipping for resellers, explained
- What is dimensional weight?
- Carriers charge by whichever is greater: the actual weight or the dimensional weight (L×W×H in inches ÷ 166 for UPS/FedEx). Big light boxes cost more than small heavy ones — measure the box, not the item.
- What's the cheapest way to ship a video game?
- A single game in a bubble mailer (6-10 oz) ships USPS Ground Advantage for roughly $5-6 at retail — and 20-60% less through eBay labels or Pirate Ship. USPS Priority is rarely worth it for media under 2 lbs.
- Should I charge the buyer for shipping or offer free shipping?
- Free shipping ranks better in eBay search and converts better, but build it into your price — eBay's final-value fee applies to the total including what you charge for shipping either way.
