• Brass cases — heavier, more durable, and consistently worth more than celluloid or plastic.
• Advertising — original branding (hardware stores, insurance companies, breweries) adds a collector premium.
• Working return — give the crank or pull-tab a test; a smooth, complete rewind is the difference between a $15 and a $30 sale.
