How barcode lookup works

Every retail product carries a UPC (12 digits, North America) or EAN (13 digits, international). We match the code against our price guide covering millions of items first; if it's a collectible we haven't priced yet, the AI checks eBay's barcode index and current listings to give you a real asking price anyway.

Barcode lookup is the fastest way to price media — games, DVDs, books and boxed collectibles — where the title on the shelf tag isn't always the exact edition.
